"Marraige, is what bwings us twogether, twoday" (Homage to Princess Bride)

October 16th, 2010 could not have been a more perfect day for a wedding. Bright golden sunshine, crisp autumn air, life long friendships and close family bonds made this a day to remember for ALL involved. For Amy and John this day spoke of a lifetime of personal commitments and hard work, eventually leading to each other and this day.Amy, a long time family friend of 15 years, is a woman of great character... the best word to describe her is "STOIC"...think Wonder Woman meets Audrey Hepburn. Classic beauty and charm, but a defender of what is good and right and will kick some tail if needed...definitely someone you want on your side. :-) In all the years I have know Amy I cannot actually remember her EVER having a boyfriend...But for anyone who TRULY knows Amy, this doesn't seem "odd" and not because she is NOT relationship material, but more so whomever was going to win this woman's heart had to be OVER QUALIFIED (so to speak) for the job! Enter John Platt, all those years of wondering what kind of a man could honorably and rightly care for this woman end the moment   you meet John. Though I have not had the pleasure of spending alot of time with him it is apparent just upon meeting him that his spirit exudes graciousness, honorability, and genuine kindness. Amy, you are good hands :-) Congratulations and Blessings to you both as you begin your happily ever after...
(NOTE: I was not the primary wedding day photographer( that credit goes to Stephen Probert Photography),I was however given the pleasure of doing Amy's hair and make up for her wedding day. But of course had my camera on hand and all the pictures below were taken by me.)

Mr. Will Kirby l Newport High School l Senior Pictures 2010

With fall comes many things...changing leaves, colder weather, pumpkin spice lattes and  the START of a new school year...and for Will Kirby it means Senior year of high school. Will, a very talented and accomplished trumpet player, he is an example of school pride. From running cross country to playing in the award winning Newport High School marching band, the sky is the limit for this young man and his future. I had the pleasure of taking his senior pictures with the assistance of my husband Sean. We had a fun day of shooting, starting with Newport High School and ending with the Bellevue Botanical Gardens as some of our backdrops.

And the "village" grows...

This post is a continuation of the last post..."It take a village"...Enter, Tyler and Jessica Kirby and baby Jack (in the belly)...
While home on leave from Georgia, where Tyler is stationed at the Navy Base , I had the great joy of capturing one of my FAVORITE subjects...The Baby Bump! Tyler and Jess have been together since high school and married for almost 3 years. Jess is 6 months pregnant with a boy. Baby Jack is expected to join this world in November and a lucky boy he is to be born into such a loving, AMAZING family. I am so proud of you Tyler and Jess...I can't wait to meet him!

It TRUELY takes a village...

I don't think I could ever find the right words to describe what the Kirby family means to me...Collectively they are an extension of my own family, a TRUE example of "it takes a village to raise a family". Almost 15 years ago my brother Nate met Tyler Kirby in the fourth grade. Through that friendship our mothers have grown close, with Coya (Kirby momma) becoming a second mom to not only my brother, but me as well. We have shared Christmas', birthdays, graduations, military deployments, weddings and baby births together...as a family. They have taught me what it means to go beyond just tolerance of another person, but what can happen when you embrace and accept another for who they are...Family goes way beyond blood and birth certificates...the Kirby are the embodiment of this. All that said, below are some pictures I had the pleasure of taking of this beautiful family...

Lipstick,Lace and Ladies...

What do you get when you combine 5 beautiful women, red lipstick, lace and thigh highs?? NO....(get your mind out of the gutter) a Boudoir shoot, of course...and what an experience it was!! Providing the red lipstick and all other above shoulder styling (make up and hair), I recently had the opportunity of working along side one of Seattle's top photographers, Rebecca Ellison. Becca and I were "introduced" by  fellow photographer Jennifer Macniven (Jen shot mine and my brothers' wedding)...Not knowing quite what to expect when the job location was a Seattle hotel, I was PLEASANTLY surprised when I arrived to a 50's inspired, art deco hotel in the U-District. Becca created an environment a woman couldn't help but be comfortable and feel sexy in. Each lady had her own 2 hour shoot, with looks and "scenes" special to her personality and comfort level. With five women participating, each had their own reason and story as to why these pictures were important...my two favorites were Ms.B , was having pictures taken for her husband who was returning from a one year Army deployment and Ms. T , who wanted a "pin up" style picture of her self  so she could then have it tattooed and she needed the PERFECT picture to model it after...and I know she got it! After, almost 10 hours, the day wrapped and I walked away feeling like I was apart of a great experience, shared with a room full of beautiful women and a very talent photographer! Can't wait for the next time...you can never go wrong with Lipstick, Lace and Ladies...Take a peek at some of my work (NOTE: All photography was taken by Rebecca Ellison. Worth the wait...Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Braden!!

July 17th, 2010 marked a day filled with LOTS of sunshine, laughter, and love as Tyler and Stephanie, surround by family and friends, finalized their three year engament with the commitment of marraige. The much ANTICIPATED day told a story of close family bonds, genuine friendships and unconditional love. All of which I had the pleasure of capturing in photos that will tell their story for years to come.
